Changelog 069: Startup and Runtime Smoothness

VibeSail starts faster and feels steadier after a Codex /goal performance pass.

We used Codex /goal to profile the parts of VibeSail that were making startup and frame pacing feel heavier than they needed to.

  • The game marks the core world ready earlier, then loads wildlife and extra detail in background slices.
  • Island decoration work now runs in budgeted batches instead of one big startup hit.
  • Water reflections use an adaptive capture cadence when frames are struggling, then return to full rate when pacing recovers.
  • The homepage now defers the 3D background until idle time, so the page becomes usable sooner.
  • Geo scenes prioritize the central city tiles before ambient decoration, keeping the visible world sharp first.

The videos below show the game loading improvement first, then the homepage loading improvement. In measured runs, homepage DOMContentLoaded dropped from about 772ms to about 117ms, and one geo scene load dropped from about 532ms to about 273ms.
